Well, sinister diesel sent a letter to a few companies that use that color blue on aftermarket parts. May not be same exact blue but close. They pretty much said it a trademark color of sinister diesel since 2009. Said all company’s need to stop using the color. I don’t have all the info but from what I see on Instagram that the basics. So now a lot of company’s are pissed and will not do business with them anymore. Was it a bad move? Was it a smart move? They pretty much pissed the entire diesel community off yesterday!

That is what i am getting from it as well. The letter they sent out to the companies states that the color blue has been trademarked and if it is the color or close to it they cannot use it.
I did not know that was even possible if it is indeed true. Lots of folks in the diesel community posting up negative remarks regarding anything with the color blue.

Well if it legally registered to Sinister Diesel, it's their right and should call out others.
And all the others should respect them and stop using it.
If it was reversed, isn't that what they would want?
I retired from an oil company and they have a very specific color and design for their company logo. They would file and see you in court without hesitation for using their design or color without their approval. (they have an won in the past)

I totally understand trademarking designs and names. But there's hundreds of aftermarket companies and only so many colors.
Just seems silly to me.

I use to think so, but there are very specific color codes for more blues than I ever knew.
If it is THE specific color, then yes .. but the general color blue .. then no.
