    Heading south for the winter

Haven't been on web site for a while, taking care of parents. Anyways the wife and I are heading south for the winter. Installed MM3 custom tunes from Ray at DRD, Also EGR/Cooler delete, Flo-pro SS 4" turbo back, firestone airbags, Throttle valve delete and Pyrometer hooked up to MM3. We pull a 14,000LBS 5th wheel. Have only made short trips so far. We live in Michigan and went up to see the fall colors. Really looking forward to this trip. Wanna thank Big Daddy Dan, JJ and Ray for all the help they have given me. I am older and not very computer savvy. I have had the trans and rear end serviced. Changed the oil and filter. Changed the fuel filter. Oh, I almost forgot, added a 45 gallons aux fuel tank. I guess I am ready. Will let you know how our trip goes. Cheers Bartster

Re: Heading south for the winter

I finally made down to south florida. Truck ran fine, But I am worried about my trans or maybe my TC. Had a traffic jam in the tennesee mountains (accident) When we started to slowly start back up the truck shuttered and seems like it didn't`t want to move. Kept an eye on trans temp and they where good ( 155- 165 ) Pulling a fully loaded 5th wheel. Wanted my next purchase to be a propane injection system but now i am thinking trans replacement. Has anybody tried the new Allison tran conversion and how does it work and cost. Also there is a place in Boca Ratten that sells a 68RFE rebuilt for $3400 W/ 5 year or 100,000 mile warranty. What say you cummins experts?
