I just spoke with FCA today and the assured me that they will not be dropping the G56 anytime soon. They confirmed the G56 will be in the 2019 and 2020 HD Rams.
Well, they told us differently.

I love my G56. Went to Lake Chatuge on the GA NC border for my youngest sons fishing tournament. A friend of mine who's son is on the same team as mine called me while we were on this goat path of a road that had several "180" turns going down hill (6 and 7% grades, yeah I know there's steeper) and ask me how was I doing it and maintaining my speed with out hitting the brakes. He was in furd automatic diesel behind me. I said with a smile I gotta exhaust brake and a manual transmission.
If and only if I have to buy a new truck I may find away to put one of the NP435's I have laying around in it. They have granny gear but no OD but there are fixes for that.
Love my G56. I will be upgrading the stock clutch soon but other than that, no complaints. All my friends said i was crazy when i told them i went with a manual.... Time for some new friends......LOL
Everyone kept telling me "Why'd you do that they are de-tuned!"
True, but that is easy enough to fix
