Well, boy and girls, the Official news is there is no more option to order the G56 Trans in the Heavy Duty Ram trucks for 2019.
We feel this is a big mistake!
Thoughts?

Big mistake by FCA. They have no idea how a manual transmission option keeps many loyal customers for them. Owning a G56 truck myself, there is nothing like towing with a manual gearbox in the hills...and nothing like the feel of having total control of what gear you are in! The egt control, braking control, and the sound of the engine with a manual is no comparison to an automatic truck. Nothing wrong with a automatic, but if you own a G56 truck you'll know what I mean.

Big mistake on FCA’s part. Like Ray said there’s nothing that beats a G56!

I don't have a G56 but I love the nv5600 behind mine. And it is part of the reason why I like dodge trucks. Sorry guys I have always been a Chevrolet guy but also liked the Cummins.
Agree that dropping the G56 is a big mistake. That said, I'm sure sales numbers did the talking.

Never ending project. Always adding something...
I'm with you guy's, love the manual transmission. But the sales numbers always win out. Maybe Chrysler will finally build an auto trans that isn't weak, but I won't hold my breath.
Next thing you know, they will eliminate the solid front axle...

Boo hiss! What a colossal screw up on FCA’s part. Makes me wish I had ordered a G56 instead of getting a used truck with auto *.

I can't believe any of the big three dumped the manual options for their truck line-ups. I don't know what sales are like on those but I would think they sold them easily. I could be wrong, though. I am curious to know how many people would have chosen a manual if the same truck they drove off with was available in a manual during the time of purchase.
That is a great question I talked to a few dealers and said they didn't sit on lots long, they were sought after. But sales were "low". My thing I have always said about all three if you don't make them and put them on lots you can't sell any.
