So I've finally seen the tuning price for the new l5p duramax. ? I thought the cummins were expensive. But they are daggum 3300$ its 2400 for the modified pcm. Another 900 for tuning. And then a 700$ pcm core charge. Gooood nesssss. What yall think?

2016 2500 slt. 4x4. 20x10 moto metal 970s on 305-55-20. Fully deleted with mm3. 5 inch tbe.
I think it's tough to beat a strong solid axle pickup with a Cummins!

Same happened when Dodge/Ram upped the encryption on the 13s or 14s. Tuning was outrageous until more platforms got around the encryption, then the price came down quite a bit.

The newer the trucks the more price increases you can expect due to how hard it is to get around the encryption and what new software these companies buy.

I know right. I remember when I tuned and deleted my 07 6.7 truck. 1300$ for tuning exhaust egr and throttle valve delete. Let's hope the 5th gen cummins dont get rediculous like the l5p.

Based on history I think it can be expected. I only hope that MM3 & DRD will have it sorted out by the time I'm ready to buy one.

Oh yeah absolutely. Reckon time will tell. I dont rhink Chrysler will make it so ridiculously hard. I'm actually surprised they havent made an srt6 model in the cummins with how into powerful cars they are now. People would eat it up. It's just crazy how fast things change. 21 years ago a cummins was all mechanical LOL.
