    Exhaust Question

I have a 1998 12 valve. I bought it with the MBRP 4” Turbo back exhaust. It has the MBRP muffler but right before the muffler the welded on this bullet looking cat or resonator looking thing.. The exhaust isn’t very loud, so my question is.. How do you know if it is a cat.. it’s about 6-8” in diameter and about 10” long bullet shaped.. I’d take pictures but I don’t think I can post them. Thanks in advance.

Resonator maybe? Hard to say with out a picture. Some put do put those on to help cut out the drone.

    Re: Exhaust Question

I doubt it's a catalytic converter. They weren't mandatory until 2004.5 on diesels. Chances are it's a resonator. If you don't have a drone in the cab, that's my bet. Did you install this? or was it on the truck?
