yea no kidding the 03 t 05 years must ave been the worst
Yeah, but they still were the best of them. First model year is usually the worst. First year model has all sorts of little niceties that disappear through the model year. But they didn't do too bad on the 03's. I think the biggest issues were with the emissions and Cummins. I don't think they get along.

Agreed emissions is the enemy.
Mines got 16000 kms on it.
Did a DEF Pump on warranty at 14000 kms other than that just recalls.

Ended tightening up a couple nuts and had a crap driver side battery.
After 15 years of constance maintenance, I drove my truck home, parked it and went into the house.
An hour later, got back into it and it cranked, but no life. Went through everything, like checking fuel flow and pressure, filters and such.
My friend uncle owns a shop and he brought over some equipment to test the electrical system, but found nothing.
After we plugged in the wires for the ECM, for some reason, Ted tested it again .... she fired up.
Must of been something in the fitting and cleaned when pulling apart and replacing it again.
This is scary ... its 1st real problem since I bought it new.

1st gear synchro sized and shattered at 60k.
It was like getting rear-ended, but no one was there.
Was sitting at a stop sign on neutral.
Dealer fixed it, and now she leaks like a sieve.

I had my rear axle broke at 208,091 and just had right rear wheel studs snapped today and destroyed my rim at 208,972.
