Thankfully my wife and kids are all OK. All fo teh safety features on my 07 5.9 worked flawlessly and they walked away with just a few bumps and scrapes. The truck, however, is toast.
I loved my 5.9l. It had 230k on it and ran like a top. Pulled strong. Now I need a replacement. I have been able to find a few 5.9's within a few hours' drive, but also a few early 6.7's.
One '07.5 6.7l is almost an exact match for my old truck, but I am concerned about the mill (in general). 234k miles. What says the group on the things to look for when considering an early 6.7? How much can I expect to spend and wrench in it with all of apparently "Standard" deletes to make it right. My first goal is longevity, then towing performance, then fuel mileage.
Or, should I just by another 5.9 at about a 3-5k premium?
Thanks!
