Thread: Service Air Filter Message On Dash

  1. Top Of Page | #11
I had the same issue, checked filter, it was dirty.

Replaced it and noticed the arm had popped off, snapped it back on.

No issues until this morning, same message.

I am not sure why it keeps popping off.

    Did you figure this out?

Re: Service Air Filter Message On Dash

    I recently purchased a 2017 RAM 6.7.

I am getting the same message when I accelerate quickly.

I referenced this forum along with others and did a process of elimination (tube in fender, new filter, checked clamps, cleaned box and intake tube etc..)

I can find anything that would cause this message to appear.

Any ideas from people more knowledgeable than me?

Could it be the foam filter inside the intake tube?

    Thanks

    Hi guys.

Just reading this thread. I've been having the same issue but have a cold air intake on truck.

Keep getting service air filter messages. Engine code p2280 would then come on so had code deleted but still get service air filter in stored messages.

I checked all clamps. Replaced airfilter and MAS.

I wouldn't think the crushed tube in fender would cause it being a cold air intake.

Intake has been on for 35,000 miles no issues.

I was told it's a soft code and can't delete if a code doesn't pop up.

Next is changing stock pipes going to intercooler.

    Any ideas?

I could be wrong on this but try unhooking both positive battery cables, touch them to a ground (not the ground post on the battery) like the alternator or AC compressor or frame for 30 seconds to discharge the capacitors in the PCM and leave battery unhooked for 10 minutes. This should get rid of the stored message, until you get another trouble code. Please keep us posted.

Thanks. I will try that. I

did disconnect the batteries about two weeks ago because of issue with backup camera not coming on.

Fixed backup camera screwed up radio for about an hour to reboot I guess.

I didn't leave batteries disconnected that long.

    Will try again this weekend.

    Still have stored message.

It will stay off for a while then once it comes on repeats every couple minutes.

I was told it may be a bug in the tuning?

I teplaced my trans about 6mo ago.

Tuner upped line pressure with new tune. Maybe it started after that. Not sure.

I may change tuning and see if that would help.

Was going to call DRD to see if they can help.

Just busy with work right now so dealing with the annoying chime.
