Re: Should I Go Compunds or 2nd Gen Swap

Will you be keeping stock fuel or will you wanting to be upgrading injectors and what not later on? The 464 would be fantastic for right now but the 467 will be your best bet for some more playing room.

464 will be quick to light and the 467 will be a little slower but still powerful.

I would do the 464 since you are only staying around the 650hp range.

I'll shoot you a pm with some more info

Re: Should I Go Compunds or 2nd Gen Swap

I had a second gen swap on my 06 5.9 - If/when I go down this road with my new rig....hopefully not for a while... I will go compounds. I was running a Borg Warner 63/68/.91 SXE single on T4 manifold and I thought it was laggy relative to stock. I had EFI Live - I bet with some data logging I could have improved it a bit but still my opinion. Once it lit it was awesome but for my hill country driving not ideal for me.

I think compounds have a better drive- ability factor. Not to mention will keep the truck cool if you need to tow something HEAVY. Last thing who doesn't like looking under the hood at a stack or turbos? Either way have fun with it and keep us posted!
