I need some help i need a crankcase breather filter for my 06 cummins as it’s not available here in norway. I googled and found them for 03-05 cummins and for the 6.7 cummins. But only complete with valve cover for the 06-07 cummins. I hope i don’t have to buy the cover too. But i noticed that the filter has some screws i have’nt seen before. Part nr on my filter is: Fleetguard 3975953.

You got me curious about this and I did some looking and reading also. Looks like the 06-07 need the replace the whole valve cover. I wonder if you could just gut it like the newer CCV's?

I was gonna do my valve adjustments soon, and I called the dealership locally asking if they can order the filter in the valve cover. They said no problem, they can get it. Now ... they never said they had to sell me a new valve cover or just the filter. Ya got me wondering now. Never heard of buying a valve cover just to get a filter.

But if you can't get it out of the valve cover ... why can't ya soak it in gas or solvent then let it dry and reinstall ?
Funny looking screws, but a bit to fit has to be out there.

Man I hate your having to buy a whole cover! That does suck! I wouldn’t think it would hurt to just clean it really good and put it back in?

Yes i did looked over my valves today. They where ok so i did’nt have to adjust them. I soaked my cover with the filter in with gasoline. I’ll put it back when it’s dry. I have’nt bought a new one yet but will
