Just got a RAM this weekend and want to see whats the best option for tuning it? Are tunes truly undectable at dealer. In the Volkswagen Audi world the dealer can read the flash counter and detect if you have reprogrammed the ECU.
What poeer gains can I expect? Fuel economy difference?

Anything can be traceable for the most part as the dealer could dig into the ecm and find out that the parameters are out of stock parameters.
Depending on dealer will depend on how hard they will be on you with the mods. The dealer has to prove that the tuner/tuning is what caused the issue. Good way to look at it is everything engine and powertrain wise will not be covered but everything else will such as seats, radio and what not.
It will all depend on how hard the dealer wants to play ball. Most folks keep the parts that fall off in case they have a serious issue that comes up. You can definitely expect to get some mpg gains as well as power.
If you decide to go with emissions compliant tuning you will also see some gains and it won't be as hard to remove everything if you ever needed to go back to the dealer.
