    Re: 6.7 Muffler?

Just switch to the 51 inch Donaldson muffler and am very happy.

Originally had the Aero 4040xl resonator.

It sounded good but was a little much for long trips towing the 5th wheel.

    The wife is happy now.

She use to wear ear plugs when towing.

I will be selling the Aero.

    A fellow Michigander.

I also had a 4040xl aeroturbine on my truck, too much drone while towing.

Put a 30" F.T.E. on in front of the 4040xl - was perfect for towing and no drone but a little to quiet.

Had just the 30" F.T.E. on and it was better as far as sound goes with no drone.

Now I have a FLO~PRO twister 12" muffler 17" total length and its perfect as far as loudness goes and no drone while towing.

Good to see another member from Michigan. Glad you found a setup that works for you. I did like the sound of the 4040xl but the drone was not worth it.

30” FTE is what I run on my truck.

I tow but not long distances often.

For my daily it suites me right!

For anyone whom has time and wants to take a few pictures of their after delete exhaust installed - it would be much appreciated!

Especially those that have mufflers installed.

    Thanks

I’ll take some for ya when I get home from work today. Gives me an excuse to get under there and check all my clamps.

Heres my setup- stock downpipe- 30” FTE - delete pipe - stock tail pipe with tip.

I bought the full downpipe back kit and cut the first delete pipe to fit the resonator.

This allowed me to bolt it up to the down pipe instead of cutting down pipe flange off.
