    Removing Emblems ?

I want to remove my 3500 heavy duty emblems on the doors. What solvent or cleaner do you recommend using to remove the left over foam tape and sticky residue? Without doing any damage to the paint.

I'm out. Switched back to gas!

Goo gone works removing the leftover glue residue but sure it will do much to the foam tape.

If you have a power drill handy an eraser wheel is what i used to help get all that mess off. Worked perfectly! Just don't stay in one spot too long or you risk damaging the clear coat LOL.

I just used fishing line to get the emblem off, grab the corner of the tape and pulled at a 45% angle that comes off easy, soap and water. Wash the area with a good soap and water ... done.

Whole truck done in less than 30 minutes and very cheap

As previously mentioned, an eraser wheel is the only way to fly. Saves on tearing up your thumbs and screwing around with layer upon layer of goo gone or WD40 or whatever you try using.

    Re: Removing Emblems ?

My 2011 emblems came right off. But the foam tape and sticky were stubborn. Been on there long enough to slightly stain the paint too.

I ended up not buying the eraser because some of reviews said it didn’t remove the sticky crap very well.

GooGone worked very well. Spray it on and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then used a sharp plastic scraper to scrape away the gooey mess. One final clean with another GooGone spray, then soapy water, and it looks fine.

This is the best method.... I figured this out when I did mine, very little residue left and you will still have skin on your fingers.
