    Re: Emissions compliant tuning

Just thought Id make a post real quick. I installed the tuner last week and have been learning how to use it. A couple days ago I realized I no longer had the RT menu option. Didn't know why.. I emailed Ray at Double R Diesel and over the past two days he helped resolve the problem. I somehow reprogrammed the truck back to stock - not sure how I managed that but I did. Anyway the main reason for this post is to compliment Ray and Double R Diesel. He was VERY responsive and helpful. I had read good things before buying but you never know... Obviously I'm a novice and he worked with me and even worked directly with the MM3 Company to figure out what happened. Its rare to find great customer service these days but I can attest that when you make a purchase from DRD they take care of you VERY quickly. Couldn't be happier and would highly recommend DRD not just for the quality tuning but their outstanding customer service. Thanks Ray!

Spoke to JJ at DRD and was informed that they no longer have sound tunes available for Emissions Compliant systems which is a little disappointing but understandable as they said some trucks were having issues. It is sounding like Ill be wanting to delete the exhaust system in the future anyway - hopefully finding a way which will still pass emissions testing. JJ mentioned that some of the emissions crap we have on the 6.7 might not even be on the next gen trucks... maybe I should have waited another year or two to buy.. Hmmm.

question for those of you running an EGRLESS emissions compliant tuning. What are your plans after 50k +/- miles and the exhaust system is starting to clog?

Assuming you are like me and have to pass emission testing...

I’m going to keep running mine until it absolutely needs replaced. Have a little over 40,000 with no issues so far. When it does come time to replace I’ll do a full delete.

Where I live they don’t emission test diesels, just gas vehicles.

Everything still works with the Regen etc...only thing that’s different is the EGR is turned off.
With EGRless you will Regen more frequently and use more DEF fluid and it will shorten the lifespan of your exhaust system according to Ray at DRD. That’s why he recommends tuning with the EGRless for trucks 50,000 miles or less.

I am going to run it till its a problem, then see if my warranty will replace it (extended warranty) if not, then I will go full deletes. At that point looking at compounds, studs, and sticks as well.

So I assume you don't have emissions testing?
