Do I really need to add a lift pump?

We haven’t had our 2011 a week yet, but from what I’m learning, it has a factory lift pump in the tank. And a good factory filter setup.

So.. is a FASS or AirDog lift pump system a part that should be at the top of my list? I’m thinking I can spend some money on other parts rather than worry about that right now.

Initially I said a lift pump system was #1 on my list. For the sake of fuel system health and longevity. But that’s before I found out this truck has one. (Was originally looking at buying a Duramax, which have no lift pump).

I’m planning on EGR delete, DPF is already gone. And a tune, probably from Double R. The trucks mission in life is reliable towing and daily driving. I’ll probably only buy a single tune on MM3.

It does have a decent filtration set up. More is always better in my opinion. Especially when it comes to something as precise as the fuel system. There are some dirty fuel places out there that will really disgust you if you ever had a chance to see the tanks!

It is an upgrade to keep in mind one day for sure bud. It does not have to be first but should be on your list in my opinion.

Another new option is the new in tank lift pump from Fleece. It's pretty new, so it's not proven yet, but these guys make some pretty good parts. It supports 800hp
