It makes me question the oil temperature sensor.
It's hard to believe the oil temperature would drop 54*F when coming to a stop.

From what I’ve read, the 6.7L doesn’t have a way to read the actual oil temp.
The computer just calculates what it thinks the oil temp is.
If this is true, there isn’t much point in worrying about oil temperature readings on your dash.
It may be inaccurate.
I just keep an eye on coolant temp, trans temp and EGT.
Maybe someone else can chime in about that AllData info.

Thanks, Corkey!
I didn’t disassemble the truck but could not see it with my camera scope.
Strangely, it wasn’t shown on the wiring diagram either.
@bajaben, please let us know if you can locate it.

Hey, absolutely no problem.
I just did a quick search, as I was curious as well.
Hopefully, it gives a little insight, LOL.

The more I look into this oil temperature sensor mystery, the more I believe that the oil temperature and pressure are computer-generated by the PCM.
I have searched the OEM electrical diagrams and parts catalogs, but no oil temperature sensor for RAM 6.7L exists.
Unfortunately, I don’t believe the information published by Mr. Shamrock in his article is correct.

I find the information in this link and attachment are closer to reality.
