    Noob in Idaho

Greetings, folks. Yeah, I got a Cummins...in my 1985 Suburban. I didn't make it happen, my uncle did back in the mid-90s, but ever since I learned about Cummins engines, I've thought it would be a great idea to swap it in. So, I've learned a lot since I bought the Suburban from my uncle last year, but I'm always looking to learn more. Especially since this chassis, engine, and transmission have aged a bit.

Anyway, looking forward to learning as much as I can!

No pics at the moment. Although it's my daily driver, it's definitely a work in progress. It came with copious amounts of body rust, mostly due to frequent trips on the salty canadian roads back in the day. Having recently moved to Idaho, it was our trailer/family hauler. The original TH400 transmission has been rebuilt at least a couple times, but the Gear Vendors overdrive is running like a champ. I was inspired to build it similar to the big-tire Icelandic trucks, but I figure I'll save that idea for a different truck. For a more attainable goal, though, I'm looking at replacing the fuel pump with the 2nd gen P7100 pump combined with bigger injectors for better flow.
