Is that Proven? I've not read that.. I have read it saves wear on your valve train (what it's designed for) I truly think we all can get "Too Deleted"
I heard a guy say he deleted his Common rail back to lift pump? Because he thought it got better fuel mileage? WTH?

    NO IT'S NOT A HEMI!

Sounds like he was blowing some smoke! Deleting the grid heater just removes that restriction for a little better air flow. I doubt you’ll see any benefit from it unless you have 150k miles on it and it’s solid soot! There are tons of restrictions in the intake and exhaust of these trucks and removing them just helps them inhale and exhale that much better.

The purpose of the grid heater delete is provide more air flow. With the grid heater in place you have a grid that is in the path of the air flow and overtime it does get clogged up if you do not remove and clean it.

It is a good little mod to do but by no means will it make you feel like you made a huge adjustment LOL.

Google grid heater delete and take a look at some of the pics that come up.

IF, it ain’t plugged with soot, I’d guarantee no one could tell weather it was in place or not. Until someone could show me dyno numbers to back it up, I’m going with a previous post where someone said it perfect “ too deleted “.

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but why delete the grid heater?

    1. Grid heater bolt/nut issue (If you call it that). There have been a handful of cases where then nut holding the power cable for grid heater becomes loose, then when power is applied it arcs and essentially cuts the bolt and then the nut drops into your motor via intake side.

    Not good.

    2. Better air flow - some are caked with soot and don’t let air feed in very well.

For huge power then the grid heater wires/grid being removed will increase air flow.

I have mine left in place but unplugged.
