Who All Is Running A Coolant Filter?

Just a small update ordered the coolant filter kit.

Really didn't like the hose that came with the kit, it was a purplish color not blue.

So I ordered a blue hose, however wasn't paying attention and realized I ordered PTFE, not rubber.

Now I have a black braided nylon hose showing up.

Last the bracket that came with the kit had scratches on it, decided to paint it red to match the rest of my engine bay.

Sinister really should have powder coated the bracket in blue.

We carry some different versions of these that have the traditional look vs. the puck and are black instead of the “sinister blue.”

They dress up the engine bay IMO.

Send me a pic of what it looks like.

I think I’m gonna be ordering me a filter kit after reading this thread.

New hose is cut to match.

Nylon braided, really does clean up that gaudy tubing.

Sinister really should have included the Donaldson DBC4785 or DBC4085 if you have the room.

Same price as the cat filters and looks way better on the kit.

I like that tubing a lot better than the blue.

Wish you could get the adapter in black would be really nice.

Put together all the connections.

Ok it's in.

Only advice I can give is put the bottom bolt to the alternator in first.

Fits with the Banks intake has about an inch of clearence.

Only thing I am not happy with is the WIX filter does not fit needed the cat filter. This is not because of my intake the filter actually hits the top of the alternator.

Had to put my Donaldson on, I'll call Sinister and ask if they can send me the Cat filter.

Pretty happy how my paint and hoses came out.
