625s are on my list. I'm just gonna bite the bullet and never look back. Think of it like your insurance policy, you pay for that and hope to never need it, but when you do need it, you'll be glad you have it.

Honestly if people keep paying outlandish prices the company will keep charging us... go another route and watch the price come down...

Good point. Though I don't want to put myself at risk for the cause. Does anyone know why these studs cost so much? Is their production really so difficult to justify this price or is it just that ARP has this market cornered?

First I've heard of the 425s being single use. The set in my 01 have been in 3 trucks now with no issues. I'm running the HMR studs in my megacab, they're $500 cheaper than 625s and good for more power than any of us are gonna make on the street.
From all I've read and heard, the 425 specs suggest that after the first use they stretch and each following torque weakens them to being unreliable. That's where most of the failures come from. I'm encouraged to know you used them multiple times.

First I've heard of this also. So, I just emailed ARP and asked them, should get an answer in a day or two I suspect.

Ok i got more info on the arp studs I’m talking about. Freedom racing engines (fleece performance) will start selling them and be on website soon. But they say the are a between 425 and 625 studs. So we will see.

In here they talk about the new studs coming out. Go to around 10 min mark where they are building the head at freedom racing engines. FYI
