    Straight Pipe Vs TBE

I am wondering if there is a big performance difference between a straight pipe vs a full exhaust. I am asking for a couple of reasons.
1st- as I was rolling around under the truck looking at the exhaust I felt like the existing exhaust is a quality product, I "feel" like I don't need to replace the whole thing. Is this true?
2nd- a straight pipe seems like it would simplify the installation/delete process. Basically I want to keep and use the existing mounts and hangers and maintain the factory down pipe and conceptions to the turbo.
3rd- the price difference. If I can save a few bucks, I can then throw that money towards other mods.

Let me know what you think, I value your opinion.

These days most downpipes are decent sized. Only restrictions are if there's any unnecessary angles they put in them

Using a TBE on certain year trucks or for higher HP is a good choice

Doing a pipe or DPF delete and pipe you still use factory hangers. Getting all that crap out and breathing right

Full kit you can do straight or muffler depends on what you like

Thank you for your insight. Looking at the down pipe from the turbo there really aren't any restrictions, obviously the DPF and scr are what holds everything back. As a side note, I'm not looking for any high horse power numbers, just want to do a basic delete and tune.

I just did a delete pipe to replace the main filters and left the rest of the factory exhaust in place. Factory exhaust is already 4" so unless you really want to go to 5" exhaust it's not really worth the money to go TBE IMHO

The delete pipe will do you just fine if your not looking for anything expensive. Later on if you so choose you can always upgrade. Never a bad idea trying to save money LOL

If you did decide to go with a full exhaust, most of the companies utilize the exact hanger location so it's a clean install. There are some cases where they may be a little different but nothing major that would hurt anything.

I went the downpipe back route. My pickup was just over 4 years old at the time and the exhaust looked like it was in good shape, but I don't want to be piecing parts together later down the road. I live in a very corrosive environment during the winter months so I got the stainless steel, that played a big part in my decision also. Flo-Pro exhaust uses factory hangers, very easy install.

Sorry if I missed it, but can you tell us about your truck? Year (that will tell us what your exhaust system is, assuming it's stock), and any other mods? If the truck is stock or even tuned, and you don't have a DPF and SCR on it, replacing the exhaust may sound better, and that will be your only noticeable improvement. But don't waste your money on a before and after dyno test, because you won't see any measurable benefit.

I have a 2014 SRW. No mods to the engine or exauhst yet. That is why j was asking about the difference between the two systems.
