Should be doing my oil today and putting the Fomoto on

I got a feeling that at the end of the day you're going to find people on both sides of the fence. If you do samples, I'd go with the Fomoto. I don't do samples. I had a Fomoto and went to the EZ only because I felt the Fomoto was slow. I drain directly back into empty 1 gal oil containers and either system works great for that.
Well the stock drain pan bolt went back in. The Fumoto was WAY to big
Nearly double the size. The stock will almost fit inside the threaded end of the Fumoto
Is it 18mm? Aftermarket pan?

Did you verify you ordered the correct Fomoto valve ?
There are many different thread sizes out there. The 2009 shows for the 5.9 and the 6.7 is the F104 series, (18mm 1.5 thread).
When I ordered mine, it fit perfect.
You pan is stock .. right ?

Stock pan. Was supposed to be the correct size but got what appears to be a m24 not m18

As long as it wasn't installed, I bet you can trade for the 18mm 1.5. Like you said, still gotta wait for the next change though.

Just to chime in on this.
I have a Fumoto drain plug and it’s worked perfectly.
Even though opening the valve to drain requires pressing on the handle while turning at the same time (so very safe and not ever likely to be opened accidentally) I simply pull a zip tie tight around the end of the valve after an oil change.
This prevents the valve from opening until the zip tie is cut off.
