I personally don't like axle dumps.. too much drone for me
I had an over axle dump on my 06 5.9 and didn't mind it with a FTE resonator. It was a little much for me straight piped - That was on a QCSB - It was mineral gray and I was running EFI Live to soot was not too bad. I had more of an issue with it coming out behind the rear wheel sooting up my bumper corner. I dumped it so the soot would not run down the side of my boat when towing. I like the look of it when its tucked up

I did the axle dump and it had way to much of a drone for my liking. So I extended the tail piece and it now dumps right before the rear bumper.
I have mine dumped like this I don’t get soot built up on anything and the drone is minimal if at all but love the way it looks my buddies who have white trucks and regular exhaust have soot built on on there fenders and rear bumpers I have none
