Re: What Did You Do On Your Truck Today?

This thread has been inactive for about a year, so I thought I'd fire it back up with what I have been up to.

My left front hub assembly decided it was time to retire, so I replaced hub assemblies, EMF ball joints, your joints, Synergy tie rod / drag link, and brakes, and I finally put my new shocks on.

When the hub assembly let go, I was on the freeway. I got the truck home, but it messed up the rotor and caliper. I upgraded to the Wilwood front brake kit.

I opted to save money and do Powerstop rear brake calipers and Brake Performance rotors.

    The Wilwood brakes are amazing.

It's expensive, but the truck stops like a sports car now.

The new shocks are King 2.5 IBP tuned by Filthy Motorsports.

I had King 2.5s tuned by Thruen on the truck for six years, and they were awesome.

    No complaints.

After working with Ben at Filthy MS for the Kings on my wife's 4Runner, I wanted to try Filthy's shock tuning out on the truck.

So far, I am super pumped with how they feel.

These shocks shine when I have my camper on.

The front end of the truck feels solid with the upgrades.

I hope you all had a great summer.

    Take care team.

    Super clean!

Slotted rotors should help out a lot.

    Thank you!

The slotted rotors do make a huge difference, even with OEM calipers.

Before the upgrade, I had the Brake Performance slotted / dimple-drilled rotors with OEM calipers.

Solid set up, but the six piston calipers are on another level.

Re: What Did You Do On Your Truck Today?

I removed my front sway bar two months ago and loved the results.

    '17 2500 4x4 +6.

    Today, I removed the rear.

Now, I can feel a difference and still love it.

Real-world: not much difference running straight over bumps, but when you're turning or any time one end of the axle stuff, oh yeah, life is good.

That said, it rides so much better on my truck.

Rather than get into this is that and a ton of subjective, never-ending conversations, I recommend you disconnect one end of the bar, front first, then back, and see how it rides for you.

Personally, even while towing my tandem trailer and tractor, I won't reinstall it.

I just thought I'd chime in with my personal .02! ;-)

I dropped my rear air bags 5 lbs.

    It rides so much better.

I just thought I'd let everyone know.

Installed rebuilt TIPM from Maks on 2011 Mega Cab as the old one was corroded.

Now, let's go on to why the cab lights are not working.

One of the shiny lug nut covers fell off.

Popped off the rest and put them in the shed.

    I ain't giving $150 for a new one.
