Mine did same. Ended up being compressor. Put some Freon and dye in it. I bet the underside of compressor lights up like the sun under UV

I'd say just put enough pressure in it to get the compressor to turn on. No point in spending the time to fully bring up the system just to test where the leak is.
Leaks usually occur at the compressor, condenser or the connections. Fill it up with some dye and take a uv light to it
Makes sense... or the money, it's ridiculous how much it's going to cost me to refill the system

Took me 2 cans was it. It's the parts that are spendy
I just looked up a compressor... a reman one retail is $250! Good think we have an account at the local Oreilly!
I feel better I can do my own rebuilds LOL
That's one thing I can't say I have ever rebuilt...
