    Steering issue

When driving straight on a road my steering wheel is turned a bit to the left. Truck does not wonder to one side or the other. When parked though steering wheel is straight along with the tires as well. Anyone else have this issue or know what it could possibly be? Maybe I need to adjust the steering wheel but it’s perfectly fine when I’m parked. Only happens when I’m driving. Truck does have a leveling kit too if that helps at all. Tire pressures are good too. 2014 Ram 2500 with 66,000 miles.

Like you said it might just need the wheel adjusted. It isn't too difficult to try. When your driving depending on tires and what not as well as the curveature of the road that causes you to notice it more then when just parked and it has no resistance against it.

I bought it from a dealership used. They said it has a leveling kit on it. Not sure if they did it or whoever had it before. They put 35” tires on it with the stock 20” rim. Personally I haven’t touched anything yet.

Check the jam nuts on the drag link and the threads on the adjuster have heard of them coming loose and pulling the threads out of the adjuster. Did mine when I first got my 14 and both jam nuts I could loosen by hand

Under those conditions I'd recommend taking it to a reliable shop for an inspection and check alignment. Better than guessing and you be in a known position to start from. More than likely a cheaper alternative too.

Caster causes a pull, or toe is way out.

Run your hands over the front tires and see if they have sharp edges on the rubber lobes. That usually means toe. Caster is the wheel forward or back of the other. You'd be amazed how caster affects handling. Camber is the vertical position of the tire. If the camber is out, it will wear one edge or the other of the tire. Toe, also affects the position of the wheel. Tow is which direction the wheel is pointing. You CAN have one turning right and not the other. Just be sure everybody is tight and happy under there first. Toe is set to allow wear and tear on suspension and steering components.

A frozen caliper will do that too. That would mean the brake is dragging. Look in the wheel and see if the rotor is blue. See if you can get a peek from behind. That has a dual piston caliper. One piston can jam and cause this. Do the brakes feel like a new vehicle? If they do, they should always feel like that, don't care how many miles on it. It's pretty hard to have them jam on the slides as they are stainless. Unless the stainless slides are bent or some rust got jammed in them. If those are the original Calipers, get them out of there. Same with the brake hoses. No more than 10 years on a brake hose.

Either way, Dealers put as little as they can in a vehicle. They only replace stuff you might see. Best to have it aligned again

There’s also an adjustment on the steering box as well. My truck had over 4” of play in the steering wheel and just a small adjustment brought it in. You don’t want it too tight or the wheels will not straighten out after a turn.

I think it’s the same. It’s kind of a pain to get to. Gotta have a long extension and a wobble. I’ll see if I can find a YouTube how-to on it.
