Problem mounting Double R Diesel pillar mount

Has anyone had any issues mounting the new pillar monitor mount from Ray?

I can't get a good mount on mine unless I do some trimming.

You have two options. Either tuck it down in the joint between the factory pillar and dash (which is how Autometer designed it to fit) or trim that tab of off. This is common with fitting these mounts. There is no such thing as perfect fit with any mounting solution. If you want a really tight fit, put some double sided tape on the back side to make it cling tight to the factory pillar.

    I used a Dremel tool
I used a pencil to lightly mark areas that needed very slight modification remember not to go to far you can always take more off but you can't put it back on.
I took my time and it turned out very nice

Re: Problem mounting Double R Diesel pillar mount

Thanks guys. I don't have a single issue doing trim work and custom fitting it to make it right but since this is my first truck I've done I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. If it were a harley I would've grabbed my dremel and pencil before I even test fitted it. LOL. Thanks for the info Ray and thanks for all the help. Can't wait til that tuner ships I just ordered Friday!!!!
