mine is a 02 and it had a intank pump
get a Vulcan draw straw and drop the tank and make sure the pump is not in there
had a shop put in my fass before I got in to this and they did not take the tank off and was having the same issues
I put in a draw straw in place of my old lift pump and been good since

thats what I did but you got to have the fuel return back to it too or a good pump will suck it dry and you will run out of fuel at 1/4 tank

Draw Straw is the best way to go.

Losing that much pressure with a stuck overflow valve indicates he's on the low end of fuel flow anyway. Since fuel is what cools the VP, an upgraded lift pump would be a good idea

I have a question of my own that relates to the Fuel Pressure. I just programmed (smarty) my 2000, everything is stock except for straight pipe exhaust and cold air intake. The truck runs great with the programmer, when it's idling, my fuel pressure is reading 12psi and wot is 10. After driving around and come to an idle, the pressure drops to like 3-4 psi and will then come back up. I wouldn't even think anything of it if I didn't have the gauge because the truck runs normal. The gauge is a glowshift with the sensor on the bottom of the fuel filter canister. Is there anything I should do? I just replaced the fuel filter also.
