    Code P040D

This code popped up on my truck a couple weeks ago. It says its the EGR temperature sensor. The truck has a EGR delete on it. Would that sensor still be hooked up with it deleted? Or was it not deleted right? How would i fix it if the sensor is no longer in the truck? Any ideas?

Often times the issue is with the tuning and not a sensor. Some additional details about your truck would help. Year, tuning, what hard parts were removed, etc... all else fails you can try reloading your tune.

Its a 2010 6.7L It has the fully sinister EGR delete and a DPF delete. Fully deleted. And I believe it has a 100hp tune on the ecm.

In the future, please give us all the truck info up front. It saves allot of guessing. It speeds up the process of problem solving too.

    What tuner are you using?

I'm not sure what tuner the truck it using. The guy i bought it from had a shop put the tune on the ECM. I'm gonna be getting an MM3 tuner soon though so i can replace it. Also the other day the little lightning bolt warning light popped up on my truck and i looked it up and it said it was the electronic throttle control. Is the right? If so how would I go about fixing that? Is it a sensor a fuse or the whole throttle valve assembly?

I had the same problem come up today with my truck. Took a trip back to my tuning software (Warp Tuning) and turned off the P040D code I was getting. When a tuner writes a delete tune for your truck they must turn off all emissions related DTC's. Your issue is most likely due to one of those codes forgotten to be turned off. Either ask the tuner if he can turn it off or an MM3 with custom tuning from Ray or another reputable tuner should do the trick. Good Luck!
