My 12’ Cummins was bought brand new and never had to replace the batteries but then again it didn’t have all the power options as the 14’ does.

Might I suggest something like the Battery Tender .. and when you normally leave your truck set, turn them on and keep a trickle charge on them. It keeps the battery fully charged for when you use it, plus keeping it charged, it saves the battery and helps for a longer battery life. But any trickle charger for your batteries will be a benefit. Read up on them.

They make some solar ones too. The bad part with them is if it snows it covers them up. You'd have to put them in such a way the snow would fall off.

Those Batteries are 8 years old? No wonder. They're done.

As Dan said, the rough idle is probably because of the low ECM voltages at start up. Either that or the injectors are dirty

Ok thanks i will consider this too. Yes my batteries are 8 years old. I charge them once a week. probably why they lasted so long. I don’t think my injectors are dirty but you never know. I bought them brand new 5-6 months ago.

A bit late. Replaced my batteries a couple of weeks ago. My truck is running fine no codes or rough idle at cold starts. Everything works as it should. Thank for helping out guys
