    A couple questions

    Hey all,

So I was searching for the answers to a couple specific questions and could not find them so I figured why not... I'm going to do the whole thing all at once. I am picking up my '16 2500 on Thursday of this coming week. I want to delete it and tune it obviously. I have been reading through this forum and have decided to go with DRD, no surprise, I know. I'm going to order the MM3 full tuning package. I want all the sounds and all the horse options. So here's where I will get roasted, I want a smoke tune too. So my question: is it possible to add another tune to the MM3 after I buy the MM3 with DRD's tunes?

Secondly, I am not all that mechanically inclined. Is anyone from the Altoona or State College area of central PA that may know a reliable shop to do the deletes for me? I don't have the space to do the deletes nor would I want to mess it up myself.

Thanks in advance. Don't be too harsh on the smoke part!

    to the forum @pieromj30

I'm all for the tune and you're getting it from a dependable source. But might I suggest waiting just a short bit ... then go for it.
It's a used truck and I would be concerned if anything else was needed to be done "before" I put a large sum of money and labor into it.

    Welcome!!

Technically you can have tune files from multiple vendors for a single MM3 device but I believe you would have to have them loaded on separate SIM cards requiring you to return to stock and then reload them as needed. In short, it will be expensive and a lot of effort to switch from DRD tunes to whoever you can find to write a smoke tune.

Thank you. I didn't know how the software worked and wasnt sure it was possible.

The truck has 15,000 miles on it. How long do you suggest waiting to delete it?

No problem man! There is another discussion going on here about how early to delete with lots of opinions. For me it was after the first oil change, never looked back

I would just drive it about a thousand miles myself just to make sure there are no lurking problems that will take priority over fun mods. After that delete away.

As far as smoke tunes.... please don't. That kind of thing is what leads to complaints from the general public which translates to having the EPA on our asses even worse.

That said, even the "standard" DRD tunes will smoke some when you first get in the throttle hard at low RPM until the turbo spools. Anything more than that is just giving us all a bad name. Seriously.

Can you point me toward that thread? Can't talk myself into deleting until the powertrain warranty is up.

smoke from DRD tuning is before turbo lights...then it’s from the tires melting off the back!
