    Question HydroBooster?????

I texted this guy on a 2000 dodge 2500 with a 5.9 24v cummins. And he says that it seems like there is a vacum leak. That power steering intermittent and brakes are hard and he just replaced the steering box. HE says that its theis Hydro Booster. Does this sound right? Can I drive it home? How serious is this? And how much would it cost to fix?

How far is the drive home ? And yes the hydro booster uses hydraulic pressure form power steering to assist in applying breaks . If down the road I'd maybe try it anything further I'd not chance it .

Yes you need to replace the master cylinder and flush the break fluid also

It would be prudent to change both, as the fluid is probably the same that's been in there since 2000. Brake fluid attracts moisture from the air, and should be changed. You're already ripping the thing apart, this is the perfect time to get it done.

Do you know if it was doing that before he did the steering box cause it sounds like there may be air trap somewhere good luck hope it's something simple as that
