    Our Drive Down Pikes Peak

This video is from my dash cam, edited and sped up.

The still shots of our truck were taken by friends of ours who were behind us.

At one point take note of these 2 crazy motorcycles that raced by us.

You can also see the wrapped hay bales along some of the curves.

They were preparing for an upcoming race.

    Enjoy!

    Wow, what a beautiful view!

It seems even more dramatic with no guard rails along the edge.

    Thanks for that.

My wife and I are thinking about renting a pull behind camper and heading to Colorado Springs the last week of June from North Carolina.

This video right here just made me want to go even more!

I felt like I was going to die on the way up.

You COULD NOT take your eyes off the road to look.

There are spots where you had one foot before driving off the cliff.

I have a video of the drive going up.

    It's not as dramatic.

The drive down is the better of the 2 IMO.

I could post it if anybody wants to see it.

As you know, they have a checkpoint half way down to check the heat from your brakes to make sure you are safe to keep going.

If your brakes are too hot they have you pull over till they cool.

I put my truck on tow mode with the exhaust brakes on trying to use the brakes as little as possible.

It is a competition with myself to see how cool I can keep the brakes and of course I always ask them the temperature.

It's the little things in life that amuse me.
