New Turbo?

I recently bought a 2010 3500 and the turbo looks different than the stock ones I've seen. Or at least I assume so. The dealer said he doesn't know too much but that the compressor was changed. Hmm.

See if you can see any ID or label plate anywhere on it.

You're probably the one who taught the dealer there was even a turbo under the hood!! Hahaha!!

Yes sir definitely seems to be aftermarket. As far as knowing exactly what it is, I have no idea. I would assume there would have to be some kind of markings or something to give an idea of brand and possibly size.

But then again it may not have anything. It also may be in an impossible spot to see as well LOL.

Does that yellow/silver name plate say anything as far as you can tell?

How does it seem to do for you?

Waaaay too shiny to be anything from the factory that's for sure. The hose clamps look fairly new as well. It's likely that factory turbo got sooted up and had to be replaced. Does the exhaust brake still function?

I'm not too sure how it is supposed to function. When I have it on and I'm going down a hill, the engine downshifts and the turbo spools up. But besides that I am not sure.
