Michigan has always been an open carry state. There are certain places you can't open carry into though. We are also a conceal carry state. The legislation is working on a bill the would allow constitutional carry within the state. If you want to conceal carry in other states you would need a CCW permit. I carry everywhere I go. I own a small grocery in a small town. My favorite holster is 'Small of Back'. That way if I'm talking to someone they don't know I'm carrying until I turn around. I've had overwhelming support from the community. I had a lady yesterday ask me what I was carrying because it looked like hers. Turns out we carry the same make and model.

I had to mention this in this thread. I remember my father telling me when I was a kid, and born in the state of Illinois, they still had on the books back then, every male who was 16 and older had to have a weapon with them at all times ... to protect themselves from the indians. I guess they would have canceled that law by now with the way they, the politicians, don't like weapons up there. (Oh, and that was a while ago .. the early 60's .. when I was a snot nose punk kid)

What do you mean firearms drama ? Most people who own or drive Cummins are also gun owners that love guns

Sorry I didn’t explain myself LOL. Not here on the forum but throughout the country with new laws trying to be passed since the shooting in Florida. More laws and more laws and before we know it, guns are banned. It’ll be very difficult for it to happen but it’s headed that way. It just stresses me out that they think (or just convincing people) it will lower crime and mass shootings to ban guns smh

Yeah I know all it takes is for a bunch of dumbass shitheads to F it up for everyone thankfully there are more people like you and myself who have brains in our heads and know that the gun is just a tool and inanimate object it will never go off by itself it takes a human being and a trigger finger to make it operate

I'm not super concerned or paranoid around the house, but I do like to have a gun accessible in my house. I have a G21(45acp) for night duty with a laser/light combo. I'm betting the guns just in my county would fill up a huge warehouse!

Thought I'd mention this, last year I got a robo phone call from the Sheriff saying a Black Bear and her cub was wandering through our area. I live in the country, and I mean country.
So your not the only one that has one handy when at home.

The wife and I are to old to run (and she has a fake knee), I can't bar fight like I use to, so we'll just stand our ground til the end.

I wish we could carry up here in the Communist Republic of Canada. Firearms laws are such a freaking joke up here.

I'm an American Citizen. Born and raised in California until I was 13. Both parents are Canadian, I wound up back here when they split.

I've often thought about moving back but I don't think I'd be able to find anything in my line of work. Texas really appeals to me.

Everything is better from taxes to healthcare and firearms rights. Life is what you make it in the good old USA. So many people in Canada surviving on the Liberal tit it's enough to make you gag.

Sorry to go in to the weeds there. Couldn't resist jumping in to this thread. I envy you folks and your rights
