So just had this code kick this morning. I know it is “wrong immobilizer key”. I drove 40 miles with no hiccups to the middle of BFE for work. I was able to successfully clear the code once I arrived at work and shut the truck down. Has anyone else experienced this issue? And what was the fix?
Truck is tuned by Ray with the typical missing parts (exhaust and egr) nothing other than that.

Possibly your key battery is low. Or possible your key is going bad. Also if you have aftermarket remote start. That could be an issue. I've seen it cause more problems than not.Originally Posted by BrightWhiteCummins

That’s all the info I was able to find as well. I would hope the key isn’t already going bad as it is the newest one I have and had programmed when I bought the truck. I’ll get some new batteries and see if that helps. Also it is a stock remote start. It did start no problem with no code in the afternoon when it was time to head for home.

I gotcha. I would say at some point the truck didnt recognize the key. May have been a fluke thing. Ide prob still change the key battery and see if it happens again.

Well it’s been almost a month now and no more hiccups. Just pulled the key apart and blew it out. You know like you had to do for the old NES systems. Anyway everything seems to be working just fine.
