Smile Boob noob (exaggeration on the boob part for more attention)

    Hello all,

Sorry to disappoint, but no boob pic, nevertheless the noob part is very accurate! Ill jump straight into it with im from Fairbanks AK, I recently purchased my first turbo diesel (finally) after 29 long years of existence. I purchased a 04.5 HO ram 2500 about 3 months ago, and i couldnt be more pleased with the truck. It had some minor aftermarket things done to it, but most of it was just cosmetic wise. So far the first things ive done to the truck was put a magnaflow turbo back 5" straight pipe on her, an AFE cold air intake, a diablo trinity t1000 tuner, all of which obviously opened er' up quite a bit. The truck has been very well maintained as far as far body and internals, but theres some things that worry me. 1 of which was all the wiring behind the double din it had in it when i bought it was a rats nest, because i also installed a dub 7 10" subwoofer under the back seat. Which got me thinking if the wiring behind here is just as nasty, I wondered if anything else this obviously electronically inclined superhuman was capable of.. as i suspected, mostly all wiring was sub par to say the least. I mean who makes a GROUND wire WHITE? so after about a week of going through the whole truck and rewiring and taping/soldering exposed wires to my light bars, back up lights and cam etc.. i got under the hood where he previously showed a GDP cylinder head mount micro clean system. Told me i could run a CAT filter through those if i wanted, but i havent had any air/fuel pressure to the gauge anyways, which i tossed up as a bad wiring obviously because the truck runs fine. Then last week when i got my exhaust put on my EGT sensor was stripped so bad from the previous owner just wrenching it into the downpipe that the mechanic said he wouldnt feel right putting the same stripped equipment into an already bad place, he said it should be closer to the filter, which i trust the mechanic. so NOW im running around with 5 gauges and only 3 work ( i think most can understand my frustration). I went to the local diesel mechanic here in town to get some info on these subjects, then when they looked at the GDP head mount system and i saw the befuddled look on their face i grew even more weary, they proceeded to tell me that the GDP is hooked up incorrectly (hence the no action on my gauge) but how can that be? if it was hooked up incorrectly the truck would not run! They said that its pretty much backwards and it would take having to get into the fuel tank to fix, now, im no expert by any means, but cant i just re route the only 2 hoses that go into that system and simply switch them? if that actually was the case?

Second part is where is the best location for EGT sensor?

Now for some more random questioning and or statements:

    • I have aftermarket 2017 20" ram rims, aftermarket steering box, leveled 2", dual Rough Country steering dampers, bilstien shocks, and i still feel like im more or less trying to stay in between the lines more than just enjoying the drive, i started my own plowing company here locally and this is my third truck adding to the fleet with an already hooked up Boss plow attachment, i got a 9'2" poly-v plow, and hooking that thing up and driving it; the front end didnt even flex, could barely feel it in the suspension, but the slop was still present, any idea as to what else that could be?..
    • im only boosting 20psi max, with most stock cummins my year i see 30 almost in every situation, how can i get a few more psi out of this baby?

TO ALL that have read this in entirety; I thank you, and to those of you that can help would be greatly appreciated! to the rest of ya!
