    I get that problem. My 03 is in good condition but far from mint it was a western North Carolina all its life until I got my hands on it so it has the typical rust in the bed areas and the previous owner used it but didn't abuse it. This is the worst of my rust

    Unicorn my 07 had the same Dodge fender bed rust had it cut out and repaired couple years ago , they used new panels and replaced with paint match .These trucks are worth putting a little money into , i feel like i got it back . My frame was sealed with Epoxy inside and out . all Moog upper lower balljoints new steering rod with new ends , i use this truck for coast to coast travel once a year pulling my Toy hauler

    I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Mega Cab Laramie 10/10 Interior 9/10 Exterior with 90k miles. Silver with Grey Leather as close to Mint as you will find. Just posted it for sale!

    Thanks for all of the great information. I decided to bump my budget up to $25k. Definitely looking at the 4th gens now. Just waiting until I go to Tennessee in January to be able to hopefully find something while I"m there. I've also been looking at Duramax's but I'm still leaning more in favor of the Cummins; mainly because they're easier to work on and a little better fuel mileage. Transmission is the only major downfall to the 6.7s that I've been reading...aside from emissions of course.

    That's a good move if you can swing it. You'll find much better equipped trucks with lower miles in that price range.

    Find a manual transmission then that fixes the downfall.

    Just kidding but upgrading the 68RFE from what I hear helps the longevity a lot.

    I have NV5600 in mine.
