While it's apart put a cam in it. Probably the single best upgrade for the 5.9 engine, especially for cost vs performance. You can throw injectors, pump, turbos, but it's useless unless you get more air in and more exhaust out.

Agreeded its all to easy to make good power with these diesels by throwing Fuel,Boost, and timing at them and it be reliable . But at the end of the day its still a big air pump and by allowing more air in and out you can optimize the combination and make similar power with less boost, fuel and timing by doing that it will be easier on parts as well. Plus it will allow you to make more power when you decide to turn it up!
Good luck with the project and welcome!

thanks for the link! I have a good portion of my garage piled up with parts for the rebuild/upgrade (injectors, turbo, fuel system parts, BBI's etc. ) but between wearing the uniform (Army) and two kids and my pregnant wife I suppose adding one more box wont hurt LOL.
