Idle Up Feature With a G56 Trans

So, there has been some heated debate on another social media site and some of you might have seen it or actually been part of it, but the guy has a 2015 with a G56 and he was wondering how to get the engine to idle up on command.

Some say a G56 truck has this feature, some say it doesn't, and some say you can get the dealer to "activate" it for you.

I know there is no question it works on the auto trucks, but what's the REAL DEAL with the G56 trucks?

    Let's ask @Double R Diesel.

    I have a 15 G56.

My manual says the G56's are not equipped with the manual idle up feature.

On cooler mornings it will automatically activate when the e brake is engaged, then as soon as I either hit the throttle, brake, or release the e brake it idles back down.

On my pickup I had to ground a green wire under the dash, this allowed my G56 pickup to idle up as a pto equipped pickup would be able to.

I couldn't find the original source article, but I bet it's on this forum somewhere.

    Hope this helps.

No manual high idle on the newer ones that I can find.

I know my 08 G56 it works after grounding a wire under the dash.

I don't even see an option for it on the 15 warp tuning.

It stops on the 4th gen truck. it's an option on the 3rd Gen's.

    Call Cummins.

They should be able to tell you. It is possible, if I can put a PTO on my pickup then it's possible.

There is hope, but looks like only 3500 and up models. or maybe the C&C trucks.

Look at it this way, if the 2500 and up autos can do it, the manuals can too.
