    High Idle/Exhaust Brake possible issue?

So after installing my 5” Flo Pro with an FTE Resonator 2 months ago. I’ve been noticing that when I manually set the truck to high idle with the exhaust brake it doesn’t sound like a jet engine anymore. It whistled maybe once or twice on the below 30 degree days we’ve had here in NY for the last month but no more whistle just high engine idle. Is this normal, I feel like something isn’t working or broken?

I know my truck will only whistle when it's below a certain temp outside. Otherwise it just high idles with no sound. Even if you set it manually. My friends truck does the same. I think your good.

It’s been ranging for the last month here anywhere from -2 to 30 degrees and no whistle with the exception of one day it whistled for maybe 30 seconds then stopped

Before tuning, mine would whistle when it was ~35 OAT and would stop whistling ~165 ENG temp. After tuning, hasn’t whistled since...

I purposely limited the max closed position on some tune files to prevent turbo surging on some calibrations I have sent out. This will keep the truck from sounding like a jet engine during warm-up.

This has been a pain in the butt for me when making tunes. Some guys want the turbo to close up tight to aid warm up while others totally freak out when they hear the turbo do that...not to mention if the turbo surges some as a result. SO I did what I did by limiting closed position on some calibrations.

Got it, Thanks Ray! Just thought it was kinda strange that switching from a 4” Flo Pro to a 5” made this difference. Will hopefully be upgrading to a 2nd gen swap later this year and get my whistle back
