    Ram Cummins Prototype

Some of you know I work for a Dodge Dealer as a transporter. The old dealer was also a BlueBird Bus dealer. The new dealer I drive for picked up that franchise. Mainly school bus's. I'm certified to drive them too. So I get all sorts of different things to drive. School bus's, Police command centers, prison bus's (No, they didn't keep me), most recently was a party bus. (Long story on that sucker) Well anyway

    Dodge related

I was dispatched to the Chrysler regional headquarters in Tappan New York today. It was a paperwork run. Nothing special until I got there.

I went in the lobby and there sat a Ram Prototype. It was a Cummins, Laramie with some twists. The guy that I met with told me, it is something they are BETA testing, and this was one of them. It's due to go to one of the company officials. Get ready for this one.

It is lifted with custom wheels, 35" tires, raised and leveled, stack, Full belly plates for aerodynamics, little extra chrome, handling enhancements. . . But here's the kicker. You've all heard about the HellCat series in the cars. This one is a HellCat Ram!!! They're also making 1500 HellCats prototypes. He said the engine has been modified with studs and compound turbo's. The one I saw is supposed to be 950 HP at the wheels.

I wanted so bad to take pictures of it, he wouldn't let me do it. It looks just like something we would do to a truck for street purposes.

I told him I was a moderator on Igotacummins.com. I would love to borrow it for a day for us local guys to see and play with. He said he'd ask, but he doubted it would be allowed. He may be able to arrange for a few of us to go up to the office and play with it. I figured if I could, I'd borrow a bus and take as many of you guys as can come.

Imagine. A HellCat Diesel, I can't believe it!

I'll keep you posted. But honestly, I'm not too hopeful for anything. We never get to play with anything good

    OH BOY!
Kinda hard for me to beleive. At that HP, no way it could be emissions legal. No DPF on the planet small enough for a pickup truck can handle that.

Man I hope it warms up some before you get that call... and you get plenty of notice. I'd make the drive up for a sneak peak at a hellcat Cummins

I thought that to Ray. But never thought to ask. I was too busy drooling. What I could see of the bottom appeared to be complete though. It was looped back for the stack. I saw that because it was all chrome. Who knows, Maybe it's an incomplete prototype

I'm betting we'll never see it. My money would be on the 1500 Hellcat.

Either way, I'll let you know if we can get a preview.
