    System Noise?

2011 2500 with RaceMe Ultra, custom WARP tuning by DRD.
106K miles. Replaced original batteries in Feb 2015.
Been connecting a battery tender the last few weeks but wasn't helping. Had batteries tested yesterday as I've been having rough starts the past few weeks and its about to get down into the teens this week.
O'Reilly tested and said 1 good & 1 bad battery, alternator checked good.
Go to Wally World where I purchased, (they're under full replacement until Feb 2018) Everstart Maxx H7.
Guy hooks up the tester and says, "system noise" asks me if the key is in the ignition...no, it's in my pocket. Tries again, same thing...I pulled the ODBII plug, noise goes away, battery checks bad, get a replacement battery and I'm on my way.
    Has anyone experienced this?

I have been unplugging my Ultra lately, seems to be less battery drain when starting in the mornings.
How many amps/watts does the Ultra or MM3 pull at startup?
Does the Ultra have a constant power draw if left plugged in? I always wait for the screen to go blank when I shut her down.
    Thanks in advance.
Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Ok, I own a Smarty Touch and never owned a Ultra or MM3. But I understand under these conditions they're the same. When you shut the truck off an pull the key, they system is dead, per say no power used. When the trucks key is turned to start, then the power goes to it.

My Touch has a power line to the unit that is to be on a key on fuse (in the fues block) only. If you have this same line, could it be on a powered all the time fuse instead where it will have power all the time ?

Haha...normally I wouldn't either, but it was the tester telling him that...all he did was connect to the terminals.

I noticed my dash stayed on when I had my MM3 plugged in. I went inside and came back 30 minutes later and still on, so I unplugged the back of the MM3 (was going to do that when I go out anyways) and the dash powers off again. So I think it could be the tuner.. just my 2 cents, LOL

The MM3 is still kind of awake. If you touch it with the truck off, it comes alive. I can't say it draws anything though. I use a float charger also. it takes very little time for the float to be made after a few days

You need to disconnect your batteries and unplug the tuner at the same time. Then reconnect the batteries and then plug the tuner back in. If that continues you need to look at your batteries as one might be weak.
