Engine Idle up by itself from VGT

    Totally normal.

    Factory parameters are:
when ambient air temp is below 39f degrees the engine will idle up until engine coolant temp is up to
    180f.

Some years may be different but this can all also be altered within tuning; especially in WARP.

And last it is perfectly fine to idle up to help engine warm up faster, actually better than letting it run 700rpm trying to warm up.

Best combo get it to warm up fast will always be exhaust brake on and idle up manually.

I myself don't care for the EB in the winter on icy roads.

It seems to cause the rear end to kick around a bit when it engages.

I do try to use it in the winter on nicer days, and I used to use it to warm up the truck while waiting for the bus with my son.

Now that its deleted and 5" turbo back the jet engine sound isn't going to make any friends with my neighbors at 6:05 AM.
