It's definitely punishment. OP isn't kidding about finger pain....It's bad. I did mine without a heat gun and it is a long painful process to get the badges off. I did both doors and the tailgate in one sitting

The tape comes off really easy if you pull parallel to the surface, stretching the tape, it peals right off.
I removed all my badges, limited chrome trim, RAM tailgate emblems and used very little adhesive remover.
Replaced the chrome with black..

Nice!! Retro Shop does a really good job. I had them put projectors in my factory quads when the aftermarket headlights I built started having issues (seals failing on cheap ebay headlights). You can build them for less if you do it yourself but his quality is worth the added cost.
