2004 Ram 3500 projector build

Tried posting over at HID Planet and didn’t get much so figured I’d post here since it’s more generalized to my vehicle.

Looking at doing a custom headlight build with projectors, halo rings, and pod lights and was wondering who’s done it and what they used and how they did it.

Here’s a build list I’ve got so far:

Sample list (could change):

Morimoto Mini D2S 5.0 Bixenon

Morimoto HID bulbs 6500K

Morimoto XB35 2.0 ballasts

Morimoto Mopar Spec 9007 Bixenon harness

Morimoto turbine shrouds

JB Weld clear RTV

What are you starting with?

I built a custom set of headlights but did not change out the projectors. I just wanted to paint match and added halos.

What are you using the JB Weld for?

Biggest thing I can say is once you get the headlights apart and the clear lens (exposed part of the headlight) out, clean them and put them away. Don't touch them until you are ready to reassemble. I had mine out and they got scratched and I never got them clear again despite hours of polishing.

I’m going to be trying to do all the parts in one go. I have somebody willing to give me a set of headlights for $10 to test fit and practice tearing apart and putting back together. JB Weld listed is just clear RTV. I’m mainly just wondering how much of a pain it is to separate and reinstall the units. I know there’ll be some possibly cutting involved as well. Hence the practice headlights. Plan on practicing and figuring out fitment before buying.
