    Tranny

What do you prefer Manuel or Auto and why? I choose Manuel because I want to feel I'm in control.

Manuel because that's what I've always had. Plus once you upgrade the clutch they are pretty much bullet proof. Plus I'm more in control.

Totally depends on area I'm driving and what the truck is being used for. Having nerve damage an auto helps sometimes. Driving in an area with a lot of twists and turns and grades no manual especially hauling

With transmissions being electronic now there's so much control over them if you have the ability to tune it

    Re: Tranny

I now own an auto, since my wife has bad knees and if and when she needs to, she can drive it when I'm not around. But for the 40 years prior, I only had manuals. I like the control and I always did my own work on it. With my auto, I do all servicing, until it will need a full trans job, then it will go into the shop. I really like my truck, but she has felt incomplete to me from day one with this auto.

At lease to solve my personal issue, I just bought a Mini with the 6 speed ... and my mental state feels soooooooo much better. A dacade of this odd feeling is now gone.

You need to know what you really want, and what you intend to do with it ... before buying. Then go from there. Mine was limited with my wifes disability. So even if I trade this in for another (fat chance on that) it will be an auto since she needs it every once in a while.

What was/is your real needs ?

My 12' was a manual and I loved it but now I drive an auto and spoiled by it. i live and work in the same town so constantly shifting was a pain sometimes, don't get me wrong manuals are fun to drive but having the auto is more relaxing.

I like a woman who is universal. It shows independence and self reliance. Elaine can drive a Stick, but it's been 20 years since she last drove one.

    No I'm not sick.

Me? I've had sticks and auto's. I like sticks, but my knees don't anymore. I used to install brake locks. Handy when towing heavy in the mountains
