I guess try the simple things first. Check to make sure the cable is plugged in all the way at both ends - shut off the truck and unplug and plug in the OBD end of plug and do the same with the other end of plug that goes to the tuner. Make sure they are all the way seated.

i have done this and still flashes once then goes black.

Dang that sucks. Is there anyone you know with a similar truck you could plug your tuner to, just to see if the screen powers up? Even better if you could find someone that runs a MiniMax and try their cable on your truck. If it still doesn’t work then try your cable with their tuner. It would sure be easy to troubleshoot that way. Good luck.

Does anyone on here know where she can find the updater?

Those are great troubleshooting ideas and if those don’t work then I would suggest for her to try and find a local diesel shop that does tuning and deletes and see if they have any H&S input, it’s gonna be hard since H&S is no longer available for support but there might be a slim chance, never know, I know there’s a few that still run a H&S tuner.
