    Economy, Mild Or Quick Spool?

What exactly is the difference between the three?

Are any of them harmful to run on a stock truck?

I wish RaceME would give an explanation of what everything does and the do's and don'ts of each parameter you can play with

With the 2013-16 trucks, updates have changed what these do.

The 2010-12s never had this tuning option active, even though you can select with the Ultra.

Used to be the quick spool would whistle at idle and spool up the turbo very fast.

The other settings were progressively less aggressive.

With the later updates, I don't there is much difference between any of the settings.

    Thanks.

I put a previous update in and noticed it whistled at idle on the quick spool.

I don't think I ever played with it at idle with the latest update.

I've found that mild spool works excellent for towing since it seems to keep the boost a little higher at low RPM compared to economy spool.

I use quick spool when it's freezing out to try and maintain some heat if I'll be idling for a while at a job site.

I think economy spool sounds the best, and it gives it a little more low rpm growl than the other settings.

I have always run on the mild spool, like jfarrar.

I was nervous about running on the quick spool and overworking the turbo, especially with all the backorder talk I heard a while back with stock turbos.

I know there's aftermarket VGTs out there who would like to know if the quick spool is hard on the turbo or not.

I do know the economy spool sucks!

LOL, and the mild spool could use a little more aggression!

Ive been messing around with economy and quick spool. Everything at idle sounds the same...like a lear jet. But economy spool has a noticable difference in lag around town than quick spool.

Ive only got 106 miles on the truck since delete and programming so i cant give much more than that.

    Mine is a 2015 too.

Which software version are you running? Noise at idle doesnt change on the newest version, just the older ones that some of us are running.
